Miscellaneous Details
Reference the bedding, towels, rules for cleaning on handover/departure, etc ...
The Unit I own usually has enough towels for 4 people for roughly a week. I think there are
about 8 large towels, 8 small towels, 8 wash cloths, etc (possibly more) .... If one wishes
one can get a clean set of towels mid-week, but that costs extra money that has to be paid
to Whiski Jack Resort (who manage the unit).
For bedding, there is bedding for the single beds in the loft. There is also bedding for the
sofa bed. The blankets provided are heavy, and warm.
There is usually a large supply of toilet paper in the washroom. If one does run low
mid-week, just call maintenance.
In the kitchen there is no food provided (but empty cupboards for food). There are dishes,
knives forks, pots/pans, electrical appliances, etc .... (microwave, dishwasher, coffee
maker, rice cooker, etc ...). Last time there was salt and pepper, but I won't guarantee
there will always be (but there will be salt and pepper shakers). Last time I had to bring
my own sugar.
There is no maid service during the stay. A maid cleans the place every Friday from
10:00am to 4:00pm, which is why check in is at 4:00pm on Friday, (after the maid has
cleaned) and why check out must be before 10:00am on Friday. If one is late in checkout,
(or desires a late checkout) the additional fee is quite large. Also, if one wishes a maid to
visit and clean the unit (mid-week or so), one has to pay Whiski Jack Resort something
like $60 Canadian (That's around $40 Euro) per cleaning. I am not 100% sure on that
amount.
There is a vacuum cleaner in the place, in case one wishes to clean a bit them selves in
mid week.
Overall, the place is in very good condition. If there is a problem (with lights, hair dryer burn
out, electrical appliance not working, etc ...), one just needs to phone the maintenance
phone number, and Whiski Jack Resort will rectify the problem, usually within one or two
hours.
Whiski Jack Resort note Pets are not allowed. All Village Gate House units (including this
one) are "No Smoking" (with a $500 fine for anyone who violates the rule).
Other facilities
There is a storage room on the main level for skies and poles. Ski locks (for the storage
room) are provided for fee and they can also be used to lock one's skis on the
mountain (note a deposit to Whiski Jack Resort rentals is required for the locks which is
returned when the locks are returned). There is an elevator to the 3rd floor, where the unit
is located. The unit has a balcony.
There is provided parking (one parking spot only is provided). But in truth, one does NOT
need a car in Whistler Village.
There is no washer nor dryer in the unit. Instead it is down the hallway, and shared by all
units. It is coin operated, so one has to collect some Canadian change in order
to operate the washer and dryer.
Departure
As for departure: I think Whiski Jack Resort
requests one take the garbage out upon
departure (on Friday AM), and leave the
place in a reasonable state. ie put dirty
dishes in the dishwasher, ... leave furniture
as it was when the place was entered.
When leaving one has to drop the keys off at
the Whiski Jack Resort office.
